Cub Scout Pack 278 of Ahwatukee is asking for anyone with old flags in need of retirement to donate them so the scouts can retire the flags.

Only certain organizations like the Boy Scouts can properly retire flags, (i.e. burn) according to a solemn ceremony.

A campout is scheduled for Friday, Sept. 28. Anyone with flags to donate is asked to contact Cubmaster Mark Benek at (602) 703-8921 or email at azpack278@gmail.com.

Arrangements can be made to pick up the flags.
