Chandler residents can have their Christmas trees chipped and turn into mulch through Jan. 13 by dropping trees off at several locations or leaving them on the curb.

The city asks that residents remove tree stands, nails, ornaments, lights and garland. Trees can be dropped off at these parks: Nozomi, Desert Breeze, Arrowhead Meadows, Shawnee, Pima, Folley, Chuparosa, Tumbleweed and the Snedigar Sports Complex.

Trees can also be dropped off at the Recycling-Solid Waste Collection Center, 955 E. Queen Creek Road. The center is closed Tuesdays and Wednesdays.

Residents can leave their tree out on scheduled recycling days. Trees must be at the edge of the driveway, but they cannot block the street or sidewalk, go in an alley or be put in a recycling or trash container. A separate collection truck will take the trees.

To donate a live potted tree, drop it off at the Community Center, 175 E. Commonwealth Ave. Or schedule a pick-up by calling (480) 782-2745.
