Many Phoenix residents aren't aware that they live in a village within the city of Phoenix. Phoenix is divided into 15 urban villages and each one has a Village Planning Committee appointed by the City Council. The Village Planning Committee assists the Planning Commission in the performance of its duties, defining the intended future function, density and character of the Village.
