This weekend, the Feed My Starving Children Packing Site, which opened its doors in June of 2010, will pack its 2 millionth meal. This is enough meals to feed 5,480 kids for one full year. The site, located at 7965 S. Priest Dr., Suite #106 in Tempe is at risk of closing on April 17 if more funds are not raised to cover the cost of the meals.

To date, more than 9,400 volunteers have served at the packing site, serving in approximately two-hour sifts hand-packing these life-saving meals that are shipped to starving children worldwide. Each meal costs 24 cents to produce.

On Sunday Feb. 13th, FMSC is hosting "Text Manna Sunday." When mobile phone subscribers text the word "manna" to 50555 and answer the confirmation text that follows, a $10 donation will be added to their phone bill. This $10 donation buys 41 lifesaving meals and will help the Tempe site raise the funds it needs to keep its doors open. For more information contact Janine Skinner (480) 626-1970.
