With a pet overpopulation problem in Maricopa County that is second only to Los Angeles, the Arizona Animal Welfare League & Society for Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (AAWL & SPCA) has a purr-fect deal to allow people to adopt adult cats for free during the month of June.
Adoption fees for cats older than 6 months will be waived. Cats are spayed or neutered, microchipped and current on vaccinations. The standard adoption process still applies.
Adoptions can be made at AAWL & SPCA, 30 N. 40th Place in Phoenix, through June 30. Adoption hours are Tuesday through Friday 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.; and Saturday and Sunday 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. (closed Mondays).
In addition, the maker of Arm & Hammer cat litter products is providing donations and cat ID tags for new adoptions from AAWL & SPCA. For more information, go to http://www.aawl.org/gallery-cats, or call the AAWL & SPCA adoption manager at (602) 273-6852, ext. 103.
