The Chandler-Gilbert Community College Sun Lakes Center opened in 1997 as a 5,000-square-foot facility designed to serve the needs of mature learners through credit and non-credit classes. Thirteen years later, the facility has more than doubled in size and now serves as the college's hub for workforce development, as well as offering a wide variety of credit courses in math, psychology, English, Spanish, history, accounting and more. The Center also offers more than 400 online classes, covering a wide range of topics from healthcare and fitness to business and professional courses.
CGCC's Sun Lakes Center offers programs in a variety of high-demand fields, such as training to become a Dialysis Technician, Physical Therapy Aid, or Chiropractic Assistant - fields which are poised for growth through 2016, according to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics.
In addition to offering high-demand credit courses and workforce development, the Center will remain home to New Adventures in Learning (NAILS), an Institute for Learning in Retirement, which offers classes on an array of topics geared to the interests and talents of participants ranging in age from 45 to 90.
The Sun Lakes Center is at located at 25105 S. Alma School Road (northeast corner of Alma School and Riggs roads) in Sun Lakes.
