Members of the Desert Vista High School Thunder Marching Band have begun work on their 2010 competition show entitled, "Transport."

The 140-plus member band recently traveled to Camp Shadow Pines just outside of Heber for a week of intense rehearsals and marching practice. The first public performance of the show will be at half-time of the first home football game of the season on Friday, Aug. 27.

Over the past several years, the Thunder Marching Band has established a consistent level of excellence in marching competitions and earned an invitation to the Fiesta Bowl National Band Championship this December.
