Burton Barr Central Library is hosting an exhibit by Tony DiRienzi and Suzanne Chudnoff, titled "Recollections and Variations," through Jan. 19 at the library's @Central Gallery, 1221 N. Central Ave.

In his mixed media collages, DiRienzi layers fabric remnants, paper, acrylic resins and oil paint glazes to create multi-layered compositions reminiscent of geologic strata. He holds a Master of Arts degree from Goddard College.

Working with welded metal and fused glass, Chudnoff creates brightly colored sculptural pieces. Her fluid, organic compositions are balanced by formal structure. She holds a Master of Arts degree from the University of Oregon, Eugene.

The artists were selected to exhibit together because of their complementary use of abstract shape and visual texture. For more information, call (602) 262-4636 or visit phoenixpubliclibrary.org.
