Those looking for last-minute gifts for mom can find a wide variety of items at the inaugural Mother's Day Boutique Saturday at Mountain Park Community Church in Ahwatukee Foothills, benefiting the Sojourner Center.

The boutique will be from 8 a.m. to noon and feature vendors like Etsy, Bra Tree, Gold Canyon, Damore Interior Design, Pampered Chef, Sashay Jewelry and more. It's free and open to the public.

Each vendor donated a few items to a raffle and sales from raffle tickets will benefit Sojourner Center for domestic violence victims.

"We have a ministry called CONNECT, which is our women's ministry," said Dawn Rutledge, volunteer and part of the women's ministry leadership. "Each year we make some decisions about which charities are a good fit for us. This is one that really has floated to the top as one that people would like to support. Every month we as a group have been gathering items and month to month we take down items off of their needs list. We really wanted to give a little bit more support than we've been able to give through gathering items. We decided to do this so we could help them with some financial support as well."

Vendors each paid for their spot at the boutique and all proceeds from those sales will go to Sojourner Center. Some vendors are donating an extra percentage of their sales to help the cause.

The Sojourner Center has been offering emergency support for women in domestic abuse situations for over 30 years. The center serves more than 2,900 women and children annually, according to the group's website. The organization provides women with emergency shelter, advocacy for employment and safety planning, legal advocacy for protective orders and court accompaniment and family enrichment programs.

"It's just a fabulous center and could use all the support that it can get," said Caroline Clock, who will be selling Silpada jewelry at the boutique. "Anything to help women and help their families I think is really important."

This is the first time CONNECT has hosted the event and the group hopes to make it an annual tradition.

"We'd love to see as many people there as possible from the community," Rutledge said. "It's going to be a great place for families to come if they're looking for a gift for their mother for Mother's Day or for anyone to just come in and enjoy some shopping. There will be raffle prizes, great food and refreshments and outstanding vendors. They can just come and go shopping and enjoy the morning together."

Mountain Park Community Church is located on Pecos Road at 2408 E. Pecos Road.
