The Phoenix Fire Department is inviting all parents and kids to attend a free Itty Bitty Beach Party Friday to celebrate summer and learn about water safety.

The next Itty Bitty Beach Party will take place at Pecos Pool, 17010 S. 48th St., from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. Friday.

The Itty Bitty Beach Parties are geared to children age 6 and younger and their families. Parents and children receive free admission to a city pool and can enjoy music, games, and dance and swimsuit contests. The event also features a water safety puppet show.

“Kids and parents participate in CPR awareness demonstrations, a water safety puppet show and festive activities geared to involve all ages,” said Becky Hulett, aquatics supervisor of the Parks and Recreation Department. “The parties are a fun, free way to teach and reinforce water safety for kids and parents alike.”

The party at Pecos Pool is the third of four parties the city is holding through donations from Cigna. The final Itty Bitty Beach Party will be held at University Pool, 1102 W. Van Buren St., on June 27.
