John Swan

Mountain Pointe High School alum, John Swan, recently launched his own Christian clothing line called Rep JC Clothing.

Four years in the making, Mountain Pointe High School graduate John Swan recently launched a Christian clothing line he hopes will be appealing to all walks of life.

Fit for stylish youth and adults, Swan said he hopes the line of t-shirts, jerseys and hats will be appealing to everyone as well as young believers.

“The object of the clothing isn’t about trying to push religion on anyone,” said Swan, of Tempe. “It’s about giving young adults something cool to wear while representing Christ.”

The line, called Rep JC Clothing, is described as a street-style brand with simple t-shirts, tank tops, and jerseys printed with Christian-themed phrases. Some read, “T.G.I.F Thank God I’m Forgiven” and “Represent JC.”

With the idea sprouting some four years ago to start a clothing line, Swan said the opportune time hadn’t come until just recently. Swan along with friends and family celebrated a launch party and fashion show last weekend.

“I felt like it was just God’s timing,” he said. “It was such an amazing turnout.”

Originally wanting to be a basketball player, Swan moved his ambitions and energy to fashion design after a sports injury. After graduating in 2007 from Mountain Pointe, he went on to study at Arizona State University, where he will be continuing an undergraduate degree in Entrepreneurship.

With a lot of popularity and well-received feedback about the line, Swan hopes to make Rep JC a full-time project while reaching out to his community.

“I believe it’s going to be an uprising, and the best way to witness to someone is how you live your life,” he said.
