Two cats and a dog are hoping next year, Valentine’s Day will be a little less lonesome and that they have a new adoptive family by then.
Jannell Cosgriff of Friends for Life Rescue said Sage, a 3-year-old domestic long-haired cat, “likes to be brushed, snuggle with her people, play in boxes and she's trying to catch that elusive red dot.
“Sage does not like loud noises, dogs, and missing her daily treat of catnip,” Cosgriff added. “It should be noted that there are some cats she doesn't do well with, but currently Sage lives in a foster home with other cats and she's doing well.”
Jenny Bernot at Arizona Rescue has another cat, Dylan, who is “very friendly and loves attention from his people.
“Dylan enjoys being pet and lavished with adoration by his many fans, but nothing, absolutely nothing, makes Dylan happier than warming someone’s lap. He’s serious when it comes to lap time. When he sees an open lap, he’ll make a beeline for it. Once there, he makes himself comfortable and settles in for the long-haul,” she said, adding:
“We’re not exaggerating. Best to have your phone, remote, and a book close at hand once Dylan takes up residence. Chances are you’ll need to get up long before he even thinks about moving! Lap time is pretty special quality time.’
Less than a year old, Dylan “is quite active and likes playing with a wide assortment of toys including pipe cleaners, the laser light, and the ever-elusive ribbon wand toy. This go-getter will chase his toys from one side of a room to the other,” she said.
Bernot said Dylan, rescued from a hoarding situation, likes both cats and dogs.
Shauna Michael at the Arizona Animal Welfare League’s office on 25 N. 40th St., Phoenix, said Lulouise, a 2-year-old Staffordshire Terrier/Australian Kelpie mix, “is the perfect companion for someone who loves to play hard, cuddle hard.
“LuLouise will make you smile with her playtime antics and bouncy personality, and when she’s not chasing toys around the yard, she loves to snuggle up with her people,” Michael added. “If you are looking for a dog that enjoys hiking just as much as curling up for movie night, LuLouise is your girl.
