Passion for space leads Centennial teacher to district award

Brian Johnson/AFN Jon Hutman's passion for space not only inspires his students in his Centennial Middle School classroom, but helped him earn this year's Kyrene Teacher of the Year award. Hutman, in his fourth year at CMS, has students build space-related items for class projects (see him with a student's version of a Mars Rover and lander) as well as spearheading an effort to collect students' signatures that will be sent, digitally at least, into space as part of a future space shuttle mission.
