Ahwatukee student accepted as state finalist

Madison Barrow, daughter of Mark and JaNae Barrow, has been chosen as a state finalist in the National American Miss Arizona pageant to take place on July 9 and 10 at the Doubletree Paradise Valley Hotel, 5401 N. Scottsdale Road.

Barrow is a freshman at Desert Vista High School where she is involved in the choir council and swim team.

The National American Miss pageants are based on inner-beauty, as well as poise and presentation, and offers an All-American spirit of fun for family and friends. Emphasis is put on the importance of self confidence, learning good sportsmanship, and setting and achieving personal goals. The pageant recognizes the accomplishments of each girl while encouraging her to set goals for the future. Families interested in learning more about this youth program may visit www.namiss.com.
