San Tan Ford wrote a $30,000 check to the Ahwatukee Foothills Chamber of Commerce on Wednesday after a month of fundraising for the organization.
Tim Hovik, owner of San Tan Ford, is an Ahwatukee Foothills resident and chamber member. He chose to “adopt” the chamber as his charity of choice in July and pledged to donate $100 for each car sold during the month to the chamber.
The donation was the largest single donation the chamber has ever received and the largest that San Tan Ford has ever given.
“The Ahwatukee Foothills Chamber is such a vital part of the community, we felt honored to be able to give back and assist the chamber in continuing to deliver their high level of service to the community,” Hovik said. “At San Tan Ford ‘It’s All About You’ and in Ahwatukee it’s all about our community.”
Though San Tan Ford is located in Gilbert, Hovik said his business plan calls for being active in every community along the Loop 202 corridor, including the community he resides in himself. Because Ahwatukee is not its own city and relies so heavily on the chamber for so many community events, Hovik said that’s why he chose the chamber.
The chamber has been supportive of San Tan Ford as well. In 2011, the chamber selected San Tan Ford as its annual Business of the Year.
Hovik hopes his donation helps the chamber reach out to more of the community and raises awareness of all that the organization does to build Ahwatukee Foothills.
“The chamber has a lot of programs that I don’t think people realize it has,” he said. “It has something that would benefit almost any business or business person. There are forums, luncheons, an ambassadors group to develop relationships, networking events. There are so many different things going on.”
