With numerous preschools scattered throughout the Ahwatukee area, MOMS Club of Ahwatukee will be hosting its fourth annual Summer Camp Preschool Open House to further assist the selection process for parents for the 2014-15 school year.

The open house will take place at the Ahwatukee Foothills Family YMCA where more than 25 preschool vendors will be giving community members all the information they need to select the right preschool.

Children who are 2 years old can be admitted in to preschool.

MOMS Club of Ahwatukee president Amy Bartko said each of the organizations invited to attend the event would offer activates for children ages 3 to 15 years old.

In addition to the preschools offering information about schooling and summer camps, other summer camps will be giving out information about future activities.

The main focus of the open house is to give preschools in the area exposure and to allow Ahwatukee and Chandler residents to know what their options are, Bartko said.

“Now is the time that parents are checking out preschools for next year, so it’s also to show what other preschool options there are,” she said.

Some camps that will be present at the Summer Camp Preschool Open House are the Phoenix Zoo, Desert Botanical Garden, Pump it Up, and more.

“Parents want to know what their options are for summer camps,” Bartko said. “I have a 7 year old and a 6 month old, so I want to know what’s out there and what the different varieties are for my child.”

The Summer Camp Preschool Open House will occur on Friday, Feb. 28 at the Ahwatukee Foothills Family YMCA, 1030 E. Liberty Lane, from 9 to 11:30 a.m.
