With a new year, new classes and new activities the Ahwatukee Swim and Tennis Center is opening its doors to the public for an open house Saturday, Feb. 15 from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m.

“A lot of people that come here say, ‘I’ve lived in this community for 20 years and didn’t know you existed,’” said Lisa Robinson, special events and rental coordinator for the Swim and Tennis Center. “We just wanted to get the word out that we’re here and what we have to offer.”

The center is a pay-to-use facility with several child development classes, adult fitness classes, swimming and tennis. The facility can also be rented out for parties, classes or events. There is sometimes a slight discount for homeowners in the Ahwatukee Board of Management Homeowners Association, but the facility is open to anyone to use.

Guests at the open house will have a chance to tour the facility and learn about the different classes and activities offered. The center will open up registration for spring break and summer camps. Raffle tickets for various prizes will be given out during the event.

The Ahwatukee Swim and Tennis Center has a heated pool that allows guests to swim year-round. The center is also planning on adding a new adult fitness class soon called “CrossSwim,” which will be like a crossfit class that uses the pool.

The Swim and Tennis Center is located at 4700 E. Warner Road. For more information on the open house or the facility, visit ahwatukeehoa.com.
