Tucked away into the office suites near Chandler Boulevard in Ahwatukee Foothills, New Valley Church has been serving the tri-city area since the early 2000s.

New Valley moved into its current location, just north of 50th Street, around 2004 and Senior Pastor Scott Brown is hoping a 4,000-square-foot expansion will be completed by January.

“It’s an exciting time to get this additional space,” Brown said.

The expansion will begin in a few weeks, and will be a build out of an adjacent suite in the commercial building. With the extra space, Brown said the kids and youth ministry will benefit from having larger rooms.

New Valley serves nearly 60 elementary-aged children and about 30 middle- and high-schoolers with about 300 adults attending services every week. And attendance continues to grow.

“We’re getting a lot more people coming in from Ahwatukee,” said Brown, who wants the community to know that the church is here to serve. “And we’re becoming a stronger church for the community because of our outreach to kids and youth.”

Though the expansion is planned to be a short-term solution to the growth of the church, Brown said he might need to consider a bigger space in the next few years.

Though one thing is for certain, Brown knows Ahwatukee Foothills is the place where New Valley needs to be.

From the “beauty of being mountainside,” to the great families and people within the Foothills, Brown mentioned that New Valley is a place where all people are welcome.

The church, which is part of the Presbyterian Church in America and the Acts 29 Church Planting Network, plans to put more of an emphasis on letting Ahwatukee Foothills residents know they are here to serve.

“We felt called to the Ahwatukee area, I planted it very focused on being gospel centered and outward focused,” Brown added.

New Valley Church, 15220 S. 50th St., Suite 101, meets every Sunday morning at 9:30 and 11 a.m. as well at throughout the week in different community groups. For more information, visit
