In her second book, Ahwatukee Foothills resident and fitness expert Paula Owens hopes to share the secret to permanent weight loss and a healthy lifestyle.

Owens’ book, “Fat Loss Revolution,” is due out in January followed by a book tour sometime in February. According to Owens, the book is a way to share her long-accrued knowledge of fitness and nutrition.

“(The book) has all of the practical knowledge that a lot of America isn’t receiving,” Owens said.

She touches on issues such as food intolerances, hormonal imbalances and solutions to food addictions, in addition to meal and exercise plans. The encompassing themes aim to cover a fuller scope of achieving permanent weight loss instead of turning to gimmicks or quick fixes.

Addressing the difference between fat loss and weight loss is also an important factor of the book.

“It’s definitely a lifestyle,” Owens added.

As a resident of Ahwatukee for the past 20 years and with an extensive background in nutrition and wellness, Owens broke into the writing scene in 2009.

After her first book, “The Power of 4,” received national acclaim, she found a joy in helping others.

“It was another avenue to share information on a grander scale,” Owens said. “It’s awesome to hear how the books have helped people change.”

“Fat Loss Revolution” will be released nationwide in January, but an e-reader version will be out later this month. For more information about the book or about Owens, visit paulaowens.com.
