Less than a week after preliminary reporting showed the Kyrene School District's budget override was going to fail, results on Monday showed the measure was passing by 225 votes. Official results will be released on Wednesday, an employee at the Maricopa County Recorder's office said.

Before provisional and mail-in ballots were finished being counted after the Nov. 8 election, the budget override, which could give the district an additional $6.8 million per year through the 2020 school year for in-classroom technology, was set to fail by less than 300 votes. If it passes, it would continue the budget override that was first passed by voters in 2005.
