2013 is nears its end, and establishments across Ahwatukee will provide a fun and safe place to celebrate 2014 in style.

Here are a few places in Ahwatukee that will be celebrating the New Year:

CK’s Tavern and Grill

Where: CK’s Tavern and Grill, 4142 E. Chandler Blvd.

When: 8:30 p.m. Dec. 31 to 2 a.m. Jan. 1

Information: (480) 706-5564

Being one of the premier local spots in Ahwatukee, CK’s Tavern and Grill will be celebrating its 10th anniversary of having a New Year’s bash.

Kendra Fleetwood, owner, said during the night there will be different drink specials such as 25 oz. domestic beers for $2.75, and just before the ball drops there will be a complimentary champagne toast.

“We’ll have a shot special or two for the night. We’ll create them that day to make up something special for New Year’s,” she added. “Over the 10 years people have come in for a good dinner, and those people usually head home for the night. Then we get a whole new group of people that show up when the live music starts. People like to be close to home for New Year’s, so that’s why they end up at CK’s.”

Live music will be held at CK’s provided by “Kung Fu Grip” which will begin their set at 9:30 p.m., and the celebration will continue well into the night ending at 2 a.m.

There will be no cover charge for the entire night, so people can come and go as they please, Fleetwood said.

Tukee’s New Year’s bash

When: 8:30 p.m. Dec. 31 to 2 a.m. Jan. 1

Tukee’s Sports Grille will have its first New Year’s bash for its regulars and new comers with the theme for the night being a Hollywood affair.

“We’ll have the Hollywood red carpet theme, so we’ll have carpet laid out, photographer backdrop for photos to be taken of people who come in with their friends or loved ones,” General Manager Mark Rodriguez said. “We basically want to have place where someone can come, not spend a lot of money, have a good time and still dress up.”

Tukee’s will also provide complimentary champagne for all its customers, and will sell cigars to celebrate the New Year.

The New Year’s celebration will be sponsored by Spring 44 Vodka, and Tukee’s will offer free tasting samples of the vodka.

The celebration will be a no cover event, and will run from 8:30 p.m. to 2 a.m.

Loco Patron’s after party

Where: Loco Patron, 1327 E. Chandler Blvd.

When: 11 p.m. Dec. 31 to 2 a.m. Jan. 1

Information: (480) 460-8887

Loco Patron will also offer people of Ahwatukee a safe and fun place to ring in the New Year, and will make sure each person makes it home safely.

“In the past we’ve done bands and done DJs and all that stuff, but we’ve realized that we end up being the before and after party for everybody. It’s a place that people stop at before the house party they are going to, and then we end up being the after where they stop in afterwards,” owner Billy Duffy said. “It’s great every year. We can always look forward to seeing people that we’ve known throughout the year.”

Loco Patron will also offer cab services to its customers, so they can drink and have a good time without worrying about having a DUI under their belts for 2014.

“Anybody who wants to stay and have a couple cocktails, we make sure we get them home,” Duffy said.

Loco Patron’s celebration will last until 2 a.m. For more information call (480) 460-8887.
