Ahwatukee Foothills Dr. Joe Pearson invites the community to once again grab their swim suits and visit Pecos Pool on Saturday, June 4 for his annual Splash-in Pool Party.

Pearson has hosted the event for his patients and community members since Pecos Pool, 17010 S. 48th St., opened in 2004.

"I wanted to do something fun that was community-based," Pearson said. "It has been a big rallying point for the Ahwatukee Foothills community."

The event will feature food, prizes, games and giveaways, including an iPad to the child who can bring in the most amount of friends.

Pearson rents out the pool and can host up to as many as 400 people.

"It's a chance to connect with the families in the area," he said.

Pearson moved to Ahwatukee and opened his practice 25 years ago.

Back then, Ahwatukee Foothills was only a shell of the thriving neighborhood it is today.

"There wasn't much in the way of commercial business," he said. "But it had a tight-knit feeling right off the bat."

Originally from Tennessee, Pearson trained in New Orleans before moving to Arizona. He said he has built a strong foundation in the community.

"People come and go, but I will be here," he said. "A long time ago when I was deciding what to do, I realized I wanted to be somewhere for the next 25 to 30 years. And this place has been it."

Pizza will be provided by Hungry Howie's and Yoasis Self Serve Frozen Yogurt will also be providing treats for guests.

Pre-registration for the event ends on Thursday, June 2. Registration forms can be picked up at his office, 450 E. Ray Road, or at Yoasis, 1304 E. Chandler Blvd.

The forms can also be downloaded online at www.bracesbyphoenixorthodontist.com/events/splash-in.
