Saturday brings the annual Outdoor Experience 4 All banquet/auction/fundraiser at Windmill Inn & Suites at 3535 W. Chandler Blvd. Organizer Eddy Corona predicts it will help build on the success OE4A has had over the past year.
“Fundraising banquets are a great way anyone can get involved and help, and ours is a bit different from the others. Banquet dress code? Casual attire is welcome - and don’t be surprised to see button-down dress shirts in ‘camo,’ because our event is popular with Valley campers, anglers and hunters. Everything we do is casual and fun, and — most important — all proceeds benefit the outdoor programs for children with life-threatening illness, disabilities or children of our fallen heroes right here in Arizona,” Corona said. “Children are 25 percent of our population and 100 percent of our future.”
Tickets are $75 each or $800 for a table of 10. They’re available online via OE4A.org, or call (480) 529-8340.
“In 2011 we set a new record with 417 participants. With the help of many other organizations, forums and volunteers we were able to arrange outdoor camps and co-host a wide range of experience for kids,” Corona said.
“OE4A partners with Phoenix Children’s Hospital, Cardon Children’s Medical Center, and Hospice of the Valley, Wounded Warrior Outdoors and Blue Star Moms. OE4A was able to do all of this because of people like you who take time to donate money, equipment and tags. Join us Saturday for a chance to help, and to meet some of the youths whose lives have been happier and with rich experiences because of OE4A this past year.”
The event will feature a silent auction, bucket raffles, and barbecue by McReynolds Farms.
Raffle items include a three-day November youth mule deer hunt in Colorado. The 12- to 17-year-old who who wins gets a tag and fully-guided hunt, all meals and lodging and up to two guests who can be family members or friends to go along.
