Comedian Jill Bryan is gearing up for her talk show, “Jill Bryan’s Scrumdillyumptious,” to debut at midnight Monday, which will offer a hybrid of a sketch comedy and talk show feel.

Bryan, who’s brother is Jimmy Kimmel, has been working with her team for the past two years to bring her show to life, and said it was something completely different than other projects she has done in the past.

Her show will be similar to her brother’s talk show, and will offer 30 minutes of adult humor.

“I’ve always done sketch comedy through high school, but this is the first time where we filmed it to have other people to see,” Bryan said. “It’s always good to have different things going on. You see the best comics and actors doing everything, putting themselves out there in a variety of creative ways, and I want to do that, too. I want to do everything that I can do that I’m good at, so we’re trying to do as much as we can.”

Bryan has made a name for herself across the Valley performing regularly at Stand Up Live in downtown Phoenix and at the Tempe Improv.

Originally, Bryan and her team put together a pilot to be shown on the Internet, but eventually were able to accumulate the funds to secure a midnight time slot during the first Monday of every month.

“We want to try and put out something that is fun. There are so many funny people out there, so we want to make it unique so people want to watch,” Bryan said. “I’m excited to see people’s reactions. You put in a lot of work into something, and you hope that at least some people would get some enjoyment out of it.”

Adrian Santiago, writer and producer for the show, has worked with Bryan for the past four years doing different comedy sketches, and has helped bring the show to life.

“She has enjoyed getting behind the camera, and has enjoyed my writing as well, so it kind of blossomed from there to start an actual talk show,” he said. “It’s going to be similar to her brother’s show with sketch comedy… it’s going to be somewhat of a variety show based around a talk-show format.”

Santiago, a Mountain Pointe High School graduate, said the goal was to build a strong-local following around the Valley, and give people who don’t live in the Valley an outlet on their YouTube channel.

“We are also going to have a YouTube channel for people outside of Phoenix so they can watch our sketches and our show in general,” he said.

The show will focus on current events going on around the world and in pop culture.

“We have to kind of be in tuned with what’s going on across the world, in the U.S. and in regards to pop culture to keep it fresh, but at the end of the day we’re still writing comedy and Jill is still performing,” Santiago said. “I’m looking forward for it to be on air and to have a platform for Jill to perform. I think she is very talented as an actress, so I’m excited to watch this grow and for people to experience Jill’s talent on a higher level.”

“Jill Bryan’s Scrumdillyumptious” will air at midnight on Monday, June 2 on AZTV7/cable 13.
