It’s his 25th year of being in Ahwatukee Foothills and while there have been huge changes to the area, Dr. Joe Pearson hopes his community appreciation party will be around for a long time.

Saturday, June 9, will mark the eighth annual Splash in the Pool Party hosted by the local orthodontist and his staff. The event, like before, is open to the public at Pecos Pool, which has been rented out from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. tomorrow for the event.

“We will have good music and good food, and we will be having some contests this year,” Pearson said. “It’s hard to go wrong this time of year in the outdoors with water, food and fun.”

Pecos Pool, 17010 S. 48th St., is a special spot for Pearson, who years ago lobbied to get more parks in Ahwatukee Foothills, which makes it even better for him to host his event there.

“I want people to know what a great park and facility this is,” Pearson said. “Last year, we had a fabulous turnout with over 400 people. It’s our (and the pool’s) premier event.”

Permission slips are required for kids and everyone who plans to attend must register by filling out a form on Pearson’s website, www.bracesbyphoenixorthodontist.com.

“We want it to be a community event, as it is the 25th anniversary the office has been open,” Pearson said. “There have been a lot of changes and lots of good stuff has happened. This is just a friendly opportunity for people to share. (Ahwatukee Foothills) is a nice place and we need to continue to keep it that way.”

Pearson’s office is located at 4350 E. Ray Road.
