Inspire Kids Montessori will be celebrating its grand opening in Ahwatukee on Saturday, Oct. 26 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., inviting the entire community to enjoy a morning of fun.

Diana Darmawaskita, owner, said she began having the idea of opening a Montessori school when she decided to be a stay-at-home mother for her newborn.

“I fell in love with the Montessori schools because children evolve differently and the learning of the schools is hands-on,” Darmawaskita said.

There are 11 working staff members and four of the instructors are Montessori trained and certified.

Darmawaskita said the school focuses on providing students and parents with a “home away from home” feeling and a safe environment for children.

Since Halloween is right around the corner, Darmawaskita and her staff decided to celebrate the holiday by combining the grand opening and open house into a Halloween party where parents and children of all ages are invited to enjoy trick-or-treating, arts and crafts, and hourly door prizes provided by Pomegranate Cafe, AJ’s Fine Food and Los Dos Molinos.

The event is an opportunity for the community to take an interactive tour around the school, 4025 E. Chandler Blvd.
