The final plans for Lennar Homes to be built in Ahwatukee Foothills at 17th Avenue and Liberty Lane have been approved by the Phoenix City Council.

Jeffery Gunderson, senior vice president of land acquisition and development for Lennar, said the company has been moving dirt for a few months already. They plan to begin building models in June and are projected to be open for sales in September.

The company has plans for 69 homes to be built on the lot in Club West. The plans were given final approval at the May 28 City Council meeting.

Lennar is currently selling homes in a new development next to Desert Vista High School called Discovery at Desert Vistas. That neighborhood includes multi-generational homes that have a separate apartment attached to the main home so multiple generations can live under the same roof. Gunderson said Lennar will use many of the same plans from Desert Vistas for the new community, but will be adding two additional single-story home designs.
