Bethany Christian School is hosting its 10th Annual Turtle Race on Friday, Sept. 20 at the Arizona Grand Resort, 8000 Arizona Grand Pkwy.

A torrent of plastic turtles will race down the lazy river scrambling toward the finish line with prizes given to the first 25 turtles to cross the finish line, as well as the last, lazy turtle.

As a grand prize, one turtle’s number will be randomly drawn and sealed in a secure envelope prior to the race.

If that turtle finishes first through 10th place, the owner of that turtle will receive $50,000 cash and Bethany Christian School will also receive $50,000 cash.

Only turtles adopted prior to Friday, Sept. 13 will be eligible for the grand prize.

While the event and race is only open to families of Bethany Christian School, the community can get involved by adopting turtles for a chance to win prizes or by becoming a corporate sponsor.

Information on turtle adoptions and corporate sponsorships can be found online at http://www.bethanychristianschool.org/annual-turtle-race.
