Some months ago, Michelle Hansen, in an opinion piece in the
Ahwatukee Foothills News wrote, “Perhaps the only
‘Opinions’ received by the Ahwatukee Foothills News are
from the left. If so, it’s long past time for those in the
community who feel otherwise to flood the paper’s mailboxes and in
boxes.”
Well, Michelle, for those of us who own our own businesses, it’s
been difficult to take time away from our own economic survival
efforts, and sit down, compose our political thoughts, and write a
cogent commentary on the disaster that has befallen our (once)
great nation.
The year 2009 has been so monumentally bad for my engineering
practice that I came very close to going under.
Fortunately, I have recently been able to “reinvent” myself, and
establish design centers in Auckland and in Hong Kong; with
customers in New Zealand, Australia, Hong Kong and mainland China
... there is NO business in the USA ... the USA is dead, heading at
a gallop toward socialism, while, of all unimaginable conditions,
China is heading toward becoming a capitalist country.
My observations on the political, educational and business
conditions suppressing us...
We now have a national government comprised of liars, cheats and
thieves, where “transparency” now means “obfuscation.” Have you
seen anything discussed on CSPAN, as so vociferously promised by
Obama?
And I’m beginning to think there’s no escape from this
situation.
We’ve reached what I’d call the critical 50/50/50 society ... 50
percent pay no income tax and/or are employed by the government
and/or receiving income from some government dole. Do you think
these people will vote for any other program than socialism? We’re
doomed!
Maybe this is the natural course of history? Does anyone know of
a society that has survived more than 400 years, without destroying
itself with government schemes promising “warm and cozy for all,”
by stealing from the productive?
“I’m tired of being told that I have to ‘spread the wealth
around’ to people who don’t have my work ethic. I’m tired of being
told the government will take the money I earned, by force if
necessary, and give it to people too lazy or stupid to earn it.”
-Robert Hall
What good is Obama’s offer of a tax “credit” for hiring another
employee when you don’t have enough net business income to support
your present employees?
C.W. Griffin, in one of his predictable rants, decries
“plutocrat” employers ... those rich people who use and abuse the
“working classes.” I’ve been chewing on that “plutocrat” term for
some time ... then it dawned on me that there are only two types of
employers: (1) The government, looting from everyone (through
taxation) to make payroll, and (2) “plutocrats,” individuals who
take gambles with their own money, carry an idea into fruition,
create a company, hire employees and provide benefits. “Plutocrats”
so “rich” that it’s often necessary to skip paying themselves, to
be able to make payroll. Do poor people pay wages and benefits?
I’d guess that most of you are totally unaware that we’ve had
more debt increase in one year under Obama’s regime than in all two
terms of Bush? We’re approaching needing 25 percent of gross
domestic product for debt service ... pretty much a guarantee of
national collapse ... like Greece.
Obama will now delegate NASA as a weather bureau configured to
promulgate the “climate change” hoax. “Scientific Method” used to
mean proof by experiment, now scientific “facts” are conjured up by
consensus ... vote on the theory of the day ... “consensus” has
become the religion of scam artists, politicians and your own
child’s school teacher.
Earlier this year Fred Barlam opined, “Attention citizens of
Arizona: A state that destroys its public education system will
eventually destroy its economy.”
No, Fred, the “education” system has become a self-destructive
run-away propaganda machine promulgating left-wing thought, and
claiming supremacy of thought processes above the populace. Desert
Vista High School even deigns to offer “No parent left behind”
seminars ... we parents are just so-o-o inferior. Teachers
propagandize your children, teaching them that you, the parent, are
mis-informed about science and politics and free speech.
ASU invites a controversial figure (Arpaio) to a question and
answer session, then allows him to be shouted down by hooligans.
Liberals have no clue about what “Freedom of Speech” really means
... apparently their idea of a winner in a “debate” is whoever can
shout the loudest. Perhaps we should balance our state budget by
selling off ASU to private enterprise? Privatizing would allow the
state to reduce upper education costs to that of issuing
scholarships to truly qualified individuals, and send the hooligan
students (and professors) to the soup lines.
How many people do you encounter during your work day who
actually need a college degree? Very few. What we need are more
trade-oriented programs, perhaps in our community college system.
Teach your student a real skill ... then they can get a
non-government job.
But Barlam persists. In a more recent letter to AFN, he
says, “According to the U.S. Department of Commerce, the U.S.
economy grew by 5.7 percent during the last quarter of 2009, the
fastest pace in six years. Thank you, President Obama!”
Doesn’t that make you feel so warm and cozy? Never mind that
true unemployment is closer to 18 percent ... and as high as 30
percent in Michigan.
Then Beth Lyon writes to AFN, “I am grieving over the
fact that racism raised its ugly head recently when angry
protestors, under the guise of ‘patriotism,’ spat ugly racial and
sexual epithets at Democratic lawmakers.”
Never mind that a $100,000 award has been offered for any audio
or video tape proving it happened; and no one has come forward to
claim the reward. Because it didn’t happen!
Lyon is a leftist parrot, spouting the standard leftist line ...
if you disagree with the left you must be a racist. Note how often
that’s happening right now.
All you lefties should look up “brain drain” and see what those
of us with a skill saleable to employers other than government will
be doing. The USA isn’t the last democratic place on earth ... not
by a long shot.
I’m sure another teacher, Ernie Logan, is, by now, foaming at
the mouth and saying that he wishes (as he did previously) that I
“would hop onto [my] venom-filled, mis-informed high horse and ride
it off into the sunset for the sake of the more level-headed
majority of your readers.”
Well, Ernie...
