A new restaurant coming to Ahwatukee next month is going on a hiring binge – looking for what the company calls “snoozers.”

Snooze an A.M. Eatery is looking to hire cooks, busers, dishwashers, hosts and baristas for its latest Arizona location, scheduled to open in October in the Ahwatukee Foothills Towne Center, 4901 E. Ray Road.

Applicants can drop by between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. Sept. 11-20 at the restaurant. New hires will get an orientation Sept. 27 prior to the grand opening, which has not yet been set.

Snooze is the latest of a number of new restaurants to open in the last few months in Ahwatukee. It also will be Snooze’s fifth location in the Phoenix area for the Denver-based chain, which also operates in Colorado, California and Texas.

The company said its Ahwatukee outlet “will feature Snooze’s famously fresh and from-scratch food, gourmet coffees and craft cocktails, all served in a fun, colorful and welcoming atmosphere.”

Snooze boasts of “modern twists on classic breakfast fare, fresh-cracked to order and made with natural and responsibly sourced ingredients, whenever possible.”

Among its offerings are a breakfast pot pie with rosemary sausage gravy; chilaquiles Benedict, a variation on eggs Benedict with barbacoa beef over a stack of ranchero-sauced tortillas and melted cheese, roasted poblano Hollandaise, pico de gallo and cotija cheese; and a drink called Boss Hog, which is made from bacon-infused Cyrus Noble vourbon and a house Bloody Mary mix.

The restaurant’s Tempe location – the closest one to Ahwatukee right now – has drawn dozens of online raves from customers.

Snooze also says it is committed to sustainability, which includes “incorporating as much responsibly grown food and materials as possible to recycling and composting up to 90 percent of all waste.”
