Rigazzi appointed director of sales at The Buttes
The Buttes has appointed Paul Rigazzi as director of sales. Rigazzi will oversee the hotel's group, business travel and conference sales efforts and will report directly to Steve Eberhart, general manager.
Rigazzi has more than 20 years of hotel sales experience. He began his career with Sheraton, Hyatt and Wyndham Hotels, where he held various sales and marketing positions. Most recently he has been director of sales for Wyndham Phoenix and Doubletree Paradise Valley Resort.
Rigazzi holds a Bachelor of Science degree from West Virginia University and has been the recipient of numerous industry awards. Rigazzi can be reached at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Forever 21 opens at Chandler Fashion Center
Starting Sept. 27, Arizonans can shop at the largest Forever 21 (XXI) in Arizona.
XXI is approximately 25,000 square feet. A typical Forever 21 is roughly 7,000 square feet.

With a growing demand for employment services, Goodwill of Central Arizona will host Valley employers at its upcoming job fair.
The fair is open and free to the public. Jobseekers should dress professionally, bring a resume and be ready to talk with multiple recruiters from various companies who are seeking qualified candidates for various open positions.

Employment fair for people with disabilities
Magellan Health Services of Arizona, the Regional Behavioral Health Authority for Maricopa County, will host an employment fair for people with disabilities on Oct. 28 in recognition of National Disability Employment Awareness Month.
The free event will feature Arizona employers looking to diversify their employee base by hiring people with disabilities and will give people with disabilities the opportunity to learn more about the employment process, enhance their interview skills and receive resume assistance.
The employment fair will be held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the north and south lower cafeteria banquet room at Gateway Community College, located at 108 N. 40th St.

Business Academy launched
Salt River Project and Arizona State University's W. P. Carey School of Business Center for Executive and Professional Development will join this fall to launch the Small Business Leadership Academy.
Each course will take place over a two-week period, with classes held one evening each week. Participants will graduate Nov. 20, earning a Certificate of Participation from SRP and the W. P. Carey School of Business, and four Continuing Education Units (CEUs) from ASU.

Resort offers new casual cuisine
Arizona Grand Resort announced plans to add two new restaurants along with a bar and a new barista-style coffee bar.
The resort will introduce The Lobby Grill, a new American grill concept designed to become the heartbeat of the resort, and will re-concept the existing Phantom Horse Grill into an Italian restaurant. The resort will also add a lounge-like atmosphere with the introduction of the new The Lobby Bar, as well as add a barista-style coffee bar offering fresh pastries, take-and-go deli sandwiches and gelato.
Additionally, Latitude 30 Pacific Rim Cuisine officially closed for the summer in May and will re-open under a new name in the fall as a private dining facility available for catered events and group functions.

Web site to help students with loans
Former Ahwatukee Foothills resident Daniel Berke has launched a nonprofit Web site asking for donations to help students pay off their student loans.
The Web site, www.donate5bucks.org, asks that people put $5 toward helping students with outstanding student loans, rather than spending the money on their morning latte. Berke came up with the idea for the Web site when he realized presidential candidates can raise $5 million a month in donations. His goal is to raise $50,000 within two months.
Requirements are that individuals must have at least a bachelor's degree with a 2.75 GPA or higher, and they must be working in the field that their degree is in.
