What is the Youth Speed & Agility class?

Our Youth Speed & Agility class is an exciting new program we are offering that is designed to assist young athletes improve upon their athletic ability. Because of the age demographic we are targeting for this class we have designed it in a manner that is exciting, fun, challenging, and most importantly safe for the kids. We only use bodyweight and some band resistance for the strength exercises, as utilizing weights at this age can be extremely detrimental to a child’s musculoskeletal development.

What ages?

Our current class is being offered to kids between the ages of 8-13 y/o. This is such an important stage of growth and development for children. They’re growing so fast and with most young athletes there is still a disconnect between the brain, nervous system, and muscles. This is what causes children to be “awkward” or “clumsy” during this particular stage of life. Our classes can help speed up that connection and make it work more efficiently.

We are currently offering one on one training to older athletes and will be rolling out group classes in the near future.

How will these classes benefit an athlete?

The benefits are endless but to name a few: Improved speed, agility, hand eye coordination, body control, strength, concentration, social skills, and most importantly improved CONFIDENCE! What kid wouldn’t benefit from all of that??

Do the classes cater to a specific sport?

If your sport requires running, jumping, catching, throwing, footwork, hand eye coordination, concentration or physical activity of any kind then it caters to your sport. But kids do not need to be involved in a specific sport in order to participate because the benefits translate to daily activities of life.

Having said that, if a team of a particular sport is looking for sport specific training, our facility and staff are more than capable of providing it, just give us a call and let us know your specific needs and we will design a program to meet them.

How much do classes cost and when are they normally offered?

The first session is free of charge with no obligation to return for more. After that each session is currently being offered at $25/1 hr. session. Group rates and package deals are also being offered to those interested in saving a little money. Sessions are being offered on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from 4-5 pm. More sessions will be offered as demand increases.
