The Arizona Association of Community Managers (AACM) has brought about a new program that will allow individuals working in community management companies, such as HOAs, access to equal educational gains.

The Certified Arizona Association Support Professional (CAASP) program is the most recent addition to AACM's Certified Arizona Association Manager (CAAM) certification program.

According to an official media release, professionals that complete either the CAASP or CAAM program are better prepared to serve Arizona homeowners, HOAs and handle the residential challenges presented by the current economy.

In an interview with Linda Lang, president and CEO of AACM, she explained what the CAASP program was originally designed for.

"This certification is helping to provide a whole new avenue for industry professionals as a support system to the actual community managers in the field," Lang said. "Personally, I think it's going to be a great opportunity for the whole team of a management company to have the same level of education."

Darren Fisher, owner and president of Vision Community Management is a CAAM certified member, but he has been a strong supporter of the CAASP program for the last 18 months.

Fisher said he wants the new CAASP program to represent the same high standard of professionalism already believed to be implemented in the CAAM program.

Richard Romero is interning this semester for the AFN. He is a senior at Arizona State University.
