Petric awarded Princeton graduate school scholarship

Ahwatukee Foothills resident Matt Petric has been awarded a two-year graduate school full scholarship to Princeton University in New Jersey. In addition to the scholarship, he will receive $21,000 each year for living expenses.

He was also accepted to the University of Chicago, Harvard, Georgetown and Carnegie Mellon.

Petric is a graduate of Desert Vista High School and Arizona State University. He graduated summa cum laude from the school of business at ASU with a major in economics and minors in political science and international studies. At Princeton, he will earn his master’s degree in public policy and economics.

After ASU, Petric spent 28 months in Bulgaria as a Peace Corps volunteer and traveled to many of the surrounding countries. This was followed by a semester at the University of Mexico in Mexico City for an immersion program in Spanish.

Petric is the son of Karen Cook of Ahwatukee Foothills and the grandson of former Ahwatukee Foothills resident Dr. Jim Kichefski, now of Gold Canyon, Ariz.
