DV football boosters to meet May 6

The Desert Vista High School Boosters will be conducting a meeting for parents and coaches at 6 p.m. Thursday, May 6 in the small gymnasium at the school.

Parents of all returning players and all incoming freshmen should plan to attend. Important events and dates for summer workouts and camps will be discussed. Fees for players will be collected at the meeting.

On Saturday, May 8 the Desert Vista Athletic office will have an open house for sports physicals. Physicians and training staff will be on site from 8 a.m. to noon to conduct physicals for all athletes for the 2010–2011 school year. A fee of $30 will be collected for the physical exam.

The Desert Vista Football Boosters “Golf-A-Thon” will be Saturday, May 22 at Club West, 16400 S. 14th Ave. This is a fundraising event to support the DV football program. Visit www.dvhsfootball.com for more information.

Soccer club tryouts

The Ahwatukee Foothills Soccer Club will have tryouts for the 2010-11 season through May 22 at Pecos Park, 17010 S. 48th St.

The club will be fielding competitive teams ranging from under 7 through under-18.
