Tax aid volunteers needed

The city of Phoenix Earned Income Tax Credit (EITC) campaign is seeking individuals who will become Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) volunteers. VITA volunteers help low-income-working individuals and families by preparing their taxes and claiming the federal Earned Income Tax Credit (EITC). Volunteers are needed for the upcoming tax season. The IRS, in partnership with the city of Phoenix, will be conducting free training sessions from November to January at locations around the city.

Tasting Ahwatukee registration open

Do you own a local business or restaurant and want to get in front of hundreds of new customers? Tasting Ahwatukee, an annual event sponsored by Mountain View Lutheran Church, showcasing local businesses and restaurants will be held Saturday, Feb. 20. Proceeds from the event go to the church’s youth programs. Last year, more than 2,000 people attended.

Businesses and restaurants are encouraged to sign up now while space is still available.
