Homewatch CareGivers opens in Ahwatukee

Homewatch CareGivers, international provider of full-service, in-home care for people of all ages, has announced a new location at 5010 E. Warner Road, Suite 209, in Ahwatukee Foothills.

Led by President and CEO Jane Cox, Homewatch CareGivers of the East Valley and the Ahwatukee Chamber of Commerce will host an open house and ribbon-cutting ceremony at its new office from 3 to 5 p.m. Tuesday, April 20. The public is invited to attend.

Since 1980, Homewatch CareGivers has provided in-home companion, personal and comprehensive care throughout the United States. They put together a team of managers and caregivers with considerable experience providing in home care, particularly in the areas of dementia and hospice care.

V’S Barbership hosting “Primp for Prom” contest

V's Barbershop, which caters to men and boys, is hosting a “Primp for Prom” contest that is running over its social media networks via Twitter, Facebook and MySpace. The contest, geared toward high school prom-goers Valleywide, asks that students submit photos or videos of their own ‘do or classmates ‘dos that are in dire need of a primp before the big day.

V’s will select nine winners from high schools around the Valley. The nearest location is at 940 N. 54th St. in Chandler.

AZSA presents free webinar about lien law changes

The Arizona Self-Storage Association (AZSA) will host a live webinar at 1 p.m. April 27 focusing on changes made to the lien law in 2009. The hour-long webinar, “Arizona State Legal Update: Lien Law Changes 2009,” will be presented by Richard Marmor, chair of the AZSA Legal and Legislative Committee.

The webinar is free, and an archive of the webinar will be hosted on the Arizona Self-Storage Association’s Web site for future viewing.

Arizona State Credit Union receives awards for helping community

Arizona State Credit Union has received two Communitas Awards for making a difference in their community in an ethical way. The awards are presented by the Association of Marketing and Communication Professionals to recognize companies, organizations or individuals that donate time, effort or money to improve the communities in which they live or work.

The two awards are: The Excellence in Community Service award and Excellence in Social Responsibility award.

Hosting an event for the Ahwatukee Foothills Chamber of Commerce is a way to get your business noticed.

Tuesday morning mixers are from 8 to 9 a.m. on the second Tuesday of each month at a local business. Dates needing hosts are July 13, Aug. 10, Sept. 14, Oct. 12, Nov. 9 and Dec. 14. Wednesday evening mixers are from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. on the third Wednesday of each month, also at local businesses. Open dates are June 16, July 21, Aug. 18, Oct. 20 and Nov. 17.
