Tempe/Ahwatukee Young Life host “Nite on Broadway:” 7 to 9 p.m., Tempe Center for the Arts, 700 W. Rio Salado Parkway. The variety show will feature performances and appearances from local celebrities and artists. Valley sports legend Jerry Colangelo is the evening’s special guest. As a member of the Young Life Board of Directors, he will share his perspective on how the ministry has impacted his life and the community. Sunday, March 14

African Children’s Choir to perform benefit concert: 7 p.m., Mountain View Lutheran Church, Worship Center, 11002 S. 48th St. The choir, consisting of 23 children from Uganda, will perform a mixture of well-loved children’s songs, traditional African songs and dances and favorite gospel tunes. No admission fee, but tickets are available to assure seating. Donations will be accepted to help defray the costs associated with bringing the choir to the church. Suggested donation: $5 for individuals, $15 for families (three or more). A free-will offering will be taken during the concert to help provide education, care and emergency relief for over 7,000 children in Uganda, Kenya, South Africa, Sudan, Rwanda, Nigeria and Ghana.
