Here: Transportation Day offers fun for everyone
Community members are invited to explore a wide variety of vehicles on display at the 10th Annual Transportation Day from 9 a.m. to noon this Saturday, Feb. 27, at God’s Garden Preschool and Child Development Center at Horizon Presbyterian Church, 1401 E. Liberty Lane.
A helicopter will land in front of the school at 9 a.m. and several World War II replica airplanes will do fly-bys in formations with smoke trailing at 10 a.m. Many vehicles will be on display again this year and there will be a “Fun Zone” for kids. Visitors may also get their face painted, participate in the cake walk and enjoy live entertainment and food.
The event is free and open to the public.

Near: Hot rods on display at Classic Car Show
The Sixth Annual Classic Car and Hot Rod Show will take place from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 27, in Historic Downtown Chandler, showcasing pre-1980 cars and hot rods of a variety of makes and models. About 300 cars are expected to enter.
The event includes live entertainment by Pan Head Ronny and Star, along with raffle prizes, a kids’ area, arts and crafts vendors and food and beverage vendors.
Proceeds will go to support I.C.A.N., an organization focused on enhancing opportunities for area youth through family, community and youth programs.
