Here: FASTFRAME still framing for Christmas

Locally-owned and operated FASTFRAME, Expert Picture Framing at 4232 E. Chandler Blvd. is still framing for Christmas and will continue to take orders right up to and including Wednesday, Dec. 23. Owners Greg and Pat Stewart have lots of mat and frame selections in stock and have the custom framing done in the store.

A great Christmas gift idea is one of the Tempe Festival of the Arts posters as the store carries all of the collectible prints going back to 2004.

Near: Zoppé, an Italian Family Circus, heads to Chandler

Chandler Center for the Arts is bringing the Circus to Chandler Dec. 26 to Jan. 3, including a special performance on New Year’s Eve at 7 p.m. As the Center completes $6.7 million in renovations this year, the performance will take place in an intimate 500-seat tent set up on the west lawn at 250 N. Arizona Ave.

Propelled by a central story as opposed to individual acts, the circus features acrobatic feats, equestrian showmanship, canine capers, clowning and plenty of audience participation.

The Zoppè Family Circus emerged from humble beginnings more than 160 years ago to become one of the legendary circuses in all of Europe. And like many good legends, it began with a boy and a girl falling in love.

Giovanni Zoppè, a sixth-generation circus performer, who plays Nino, says the show aims higher than what passes for circuses these days.
