Denny Vavro passes away
Dennis “Denny” Vavro of Ahwatukee Foothills passed away unexpectedly Sept. 16 in Atlanta, Ga., while visiting his youngest daughter, son-in-law and family.
Denny was born in Cleveland, Ohio, and worked in sales throughout his career in Cleveland; Louisville, Ky.; and Grand Rapids, Mich. He and his wife of 55 years retired to Phoenix in 2000. Denny was well known for his musical talent, cooking and baking skills and for always making everyone he met smile.
His is survived by wife Bernice, daughter Jill Vavro and daughter Jacque and son-in-law Kevin Stowe all of Ahwatukee Foothills; Jane and Tom Zock of Grand Rapids, Johnna and Rob Carlson of Atlanta and son Chip and wife Loretta of South Euclid, Ohio. Denny also enjoyed his 10 grandchildren, seven great grandchildren and a host of other family and friends.
A celebration of his life will take place at 10 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 10, at Corpus Christi Catholic Church, 3550 E. Knox Road.
