Sport Clips honors veterans Wednesday

Sport Clips stores across the country began raising money this month to support the Veterans of Foreign Wars’ (VFW) Operation Uplink, a program that offers free call days and calling cards for deployed and hospitalized American soldiers. The effort will include “The Biggest Haircut Day of the Year” on Veterans Day, Nov. 11, when the franchise will donate a dollar for every haircut service given that day in its more than 600 stores. In addition, the Sport Clips located at Ray Road and the Loop 101, Ray Road and Interstate 10, and Chandler Boulevard and 48th Street, will be giving veterans, reserved or active military free haircuts on Veterans Day with proof of ID.

Eye Priority offers donations, prizes

Local groups can register to participate and their players, coaches, parents and fans will receive a 25 percent discount on prescription and non-prescription sunglasses for the month.
