HERE: National Geographic 2012 Adventurer of the Year in town

Phoenix Public Library will host Jennifer Pharr Davis, named Adventurer of the Year 2012 by National Geographic for breaking the overall speed record on the Appalachian Trail in 2011. Davis will talk about her experiences and sign her book, “Called Again: A Story of Love and Triumph,” at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, May 8, at Ironwood Library, 4333 E. Chandler Blvd.

Ginuwine’s sultry, seductive crooning earned him a substantial female following and made him a regular presence in the ‘90s on the R&B charts. Grammy Award-winning singer, songwriter and actor Ashanti burst onto the music scene with her 2002 smash self-titled debut album, “Ashanti,” at 8:30 p.m. on Friday, May 9.
