HERE: MPHS Grad Night fundraiser event Feb. 11

The public is invited to the patio at Hillside Spot Cafe, 4740 E. Warner Road, for an evening of wine and beer tasting as well as some hearty appetizers to benefit Mountain Pointe Grad Night 2014, from 5:30 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 11. Venue is limited, so make your reservations now.

NEAR: Discover Archery Feb. 9

If you are a total novice looking for your first bow, or if you just want to find out a little bit more about archery, then this is the place to start. Archery is not just for hunters. While bow hunting is hugely popular, people all over the world shoot arrows recreationally or for competition. Join park rangers and stewards as they introduce you to the basics of archery from 1 to 4 p.m. today, Feb. 9. Free for all ages 8 and above at Papago Park, Archery Range, 6201 E. Oak.
