HERE: Workshop on how to recognize elder abuse Jan. 24

Speakers Stephanie Bivins and Jacob Mueller will discuss elder financial and physical abuse, how to recognize it, and how to report it when it is suspected. A question and answer session will follow at 1 p.m. Friday, Jan. 24 at the Ahwatukee Recreation Main Hall, 5001 E. Cheyenne Drive. Coffee and desserts will be served.

Acclaimed choreographers, dancers and filmmakers converge on Tempe Center for the Arts as CONDER/dance presents its Breaking Ground 2014, a contemporary dance and film festival at 7:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday, Jan. 24 and 25. Tickets are $20 and on sale at Tempe Center for The Arts box office, 700 W. Rio Salado Parkway.
