Here: Create your own T-shirt and make waves this summer

Artist Red Rohall will show teens 12 to 18 how to add some color to their wardrobes by designing and printing a one-of-a-kind T-shirt from 3 to 4 p.m. Saturday, June 26, at the Ironwood Branch Library, 4333 E. Chandler Blvd.

T-shirts will be provided for the first 20 participants. Space is limited. Those interested in participating are asked to visit the library to sign up.

This program is sponsored by the Friends of the Phoenix Public Library and is part of the 2010 Teen Summer Reading Program - Make Waves at Your Library.  

 

Near: Festival winner Tommy Savitt headlines Summer Comedy Series

Comedian Tommy Savitt will perform at 8 tonight, June 25, in the Ovations Showroom at the Gila River Casino, 5040 W. Wild Horse Pass Blvd., Chandler.

A 2009 winner of the LA Comedy Awards, 2008 winner of the Seattle International Comedy Competition and 2007 winner of the Boston Comedy Festival, Savitt has dedicated the past decade to performing for our troops overseas. He is a regular guest on The Bob & Tom Show, is heard daily on Sirius and XM radio and has appeared on SiTv and Comcast On Demand, as well as a dozen national television commercials.

Savitt’s journey to bring laughter to those that sacrifice for our country has taken him to Air Force, Army and Naval bases. He has gone international in other ways, making his mark on the Canadian comedy circuit, headlining Saskatoon’s Great Plains Comedy Festival and Calgary’s FunnyFest.
