Rock in the park at Tukee Fest this weekend

The Ahwatukee Community Swim and Tennis Center will present the Third Annual Tukee Fest Rockin' in the Park event from 5 to 10 p.m. Friday and Saturday, Sept. 24 and 25, at Ahwatukee Park, 4700 E. Warner Road.

Bring blankets and chairs to relax while listening to the sounds of A Boy Named Sioux and Cooper Point on Friday evening. Those bands will be joined by Mark Mulligan from South of the Border on Saturday.

Kids will be able to run through an obstacle course, test their skills on a rock wall and enjoy a variety of other slides and bounce houses.

Admission is $5 for adults and free for kids. Proceeds will benefit various programs at the Ahwatukee Community Center.

Individual tickets for rides and food may be purchased the day of the event; all-day ride wrist bands will also be available for purchase.

Oktoberfest celebrates German beer, food and music

Bratwursts, brews and oompah-pahs will spice up Historic Downtown Chandler for the Third Annual Chandler Oktoberfest Saturday, Sept. 25. An estimated 5,000 Oktoberfest revelers will gather at SanTan Brewing Company, 8 S. San Marcos Place (between Arizona Avenue and Buffalo Street), from 2 to 11 p.m.

The festival includes beer Olympics, strongest man competition, beer pong tournament, bratwurst eating contest, keg stacking, as well as kid-friendly activities and games, including bounce houses, tricycle races and bag toss.

Tickets are $10 and may be purchased at SanTan Brewing Company.
