The Scottsdale Museum of Contemporary Art (SMoCA) is once again celebrating its newest fall lineup of exhibitions with a public opening reception bash on Friday, Oct. 8. The fete features five new exhibitions, curatorial gallery talks and mingling with the artists followed by a special fashion runway show highlighting Valley designer finalists competing for Scottsdale Fashion Week's annual Designer of the Year title. The opening celebration is a free, public event which includes a cash bar, DJs and dance entertainment.

Exhibitions on view for the opening include: Thirty Years of Collecting: A Recent Gift to the Museum; southwestNET: photography and video; Modernity and Its Discontents; Jean Shin and Brian Ripel: Unlocking; Bridges: Spanning the Ideas of Paolo Soleri; and Bridges: Connecting Earth to Sky.
