The Phoenix Symphony continues it's US Airways Classics Series with the World's Greatest Piano Concertos Festival starting May 5 to 7 at Symphony Hall.

First performed in Boston in 1875 to rave reviews and audience acclaim, Tchaikovsky's Piano Concerto No. 1 remains an audience favorite and the standard against which all virtuosos' measure themselves. Also featured in the festival's first week is Norwegian composer Edvard Grieg. Hear what he is most known for, his dynamic Piano Concerto in A Minor and his incidental music composed for the play Peer Gynt.

Part of the US Airways Classics series, "Grieg & Tchaikovsky" is sponsored by the Zicarelli Foundation and will take place at 7:30 p.m. on May 5 at Symphony Hall, 11 a.m. on May 6 and 8 p.m. on May 7.

Tickets for "Grieg & Tchaikovsky" start at $18 and can be purchased by calling the Phoenix Symphony Box Office at (602) 495-1999 or by visiting www.phoenixsymphony.org.

Other highlights of The Phoenix Symphony's US Airways Classics Series include "Rachmaninoff & Beethoven" May 12 to14 and "The Red Violin" May 19 to 21.
