Here: Laugh your way to fitness

Laugh with Laurie’s Laughoholic Club from 3 to 4 p.m. Sunday, July 11, at Curves Ahwatukee, 4025 E. Chandler Blvd., Suite 74.

Laughter is good for your health - the perfect antidote to the harmful effects of stress. A laugh club is a safe place to act childlike and be playful and laugh our way to health and happiness. Anyone can do it at any age or level of mobility. The club currently meets on the second Sunday of each month.

For more information, contact Laurie at laurie52@cox.net or (480) 540-4776.

Near: Mitzi Gaynor live at Wild Horse Pass this weekend

Mitzi Gaynor comes to town this weekend for shows at 2 p.m. Saturday and Sunday, July 10 and 11 at the Wild Horse Pass Hotel & Casino, 5040 Wild Horse Pass Blvd., Chandler.

Best known for her starring role in Rodgers and Hammerstein’s South Pacific, Gaynor is one of Hollywood’s most enduring stars. Gaynor starred in many other popular ’50s films including Anything Goes with Bing Crosby, The Joker is Wild with Frank Sinatra, Les Girls with Gene Kelly and There’s No Business Like Show Business opposite Ethel Merman and Marilyn Monroe.
